De Amerikaanse fotograaf Drew Nikonowicz (1993) heeft de eerste editie van de Photogrvphy Grant gewonnen met zijn serie ‘This World and Others Like It. Vier fotografen werden uitgeroepen tot categoriewinnaars: Patryk Karbowski uit Polen, Aleksey Kondratyev uit Kirgizië, Matt Hamon uit de Verenigde Staten en Elena Anosova uit Rusland. De competitie ontving 3132 inzendingen.

A young guy in a cheap dormitory in the suburbs of Moscow. This was an illegal dormitory and most of guests were illegal migrants. The administration of such dormitories often doesn’t pay much attention to the guests that’s why such places attract attention of police that undertakes special raids to find out illegal migrants.
